One Hundred Aspects of the Moon x Hyakudan Kaidan

The moon has fascinated people since long ago, and has been a subject of culture and art throughout time all over the world.
One Hundred Aspects of the Moon (Tsuki no Hyakushi) is a series depicting various motifs associated with the moon from Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, who was active from the end of the Edo period (1603-1868) to the Meiji period (1868-1912) and is regarded as the last ukiyo-e woodblock print artist.
The series depicts aspects of the moon associated with diverse subjects, including Japanese and Chinese stories, historical anecdotes, warriors, women, yokai, and ghosts.
This exhibition will feature 20 works from One Hundred Aspects of the Moon, divided into two sections, and will also feature works by contemporary artists who have also used the moon as a motif.
Visitors can experience an immersive world brimming with works related to the moon, such as a space where the moon depicted in ukiyo-e woodblock prints seems to have appeared before their eyes, and a collaboration between architecture and moon art.
