Hyakudan Kaidan -The Hundred Stairs-
Autumn Tour of the Famous
Oct 7 (Sat.)- Nov 26 (Sun.), 2023
Only on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays
~Special Program for Cultural Properties Protection Period~
Tokyo Metropolitan Government Designated Tangible Cultural Property
Built in 1935, the Hyakudan Kaidan, a tangible cultural property designated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, is a wooden structure and the only building of the former Meguro Gajoen still in existence in Hotel Gajoen Tokyo.
The Hyakudan Kaidan, a cultural property that conveys the appearance of the Ryugujo Dragon Palace of the Showa Period, is a timeless architectural masterpiece with brilliant and gorgeous stylistic beauty.
In the fall of 2023, during the period of cultural properties protection, we will hold a limited number of autumn tours on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays to allow visitors to enjoy an unaltered experience of the Hyakudan Kaidan.
In addition to self-guided tours, there are also guided tours by a specialized tour guide (Japanese only) and rental of audio guides (available in four languages) by advance reservation only (limited quantities available, advance reservations required, limited online ticket).
We hope you enjoy the Hyakudan Kaidan, a cultural property different from what you see in the various special exhibitions held throughout the year.
* Due to ongoing conservation works at Cultural Property "Hyakudan Kaidan - The Hundred Stairs-", the elevators are out of service. All areas of the exhibit will be accessible only by stairs.
* There will be no entry to the Gyosho Room, as the artworks in that room are undergoing conservation work. (The room may be viewed from the corridor.)
